Daniel Lambert
“Daniel’s passion for change in developing countries is clear to all that have worked with him. He regularly volunteers his time... I consider him to be an outstanding young leader in the engineering community.”
Chris Wootton, CEO, WaterAid Australia
A natural leader, Daniel displays a strong blend of technical design, project management and communication skills. In addition to his successful projects at Arup, Daniel has used his talents to exemplify our values of social responsibility and make a wider contribution. Proactive in helping developing countries, he has acted as Arup in Australasia’s representative in our partnership with international aid organisation WaterAid.
Promoting the work of WaterAid within Arup, he has organised educational, fundraising and practical engineering programs and regularly volunteers his time to speak about the work of WaterAid. In 2007 Arup offered one position to attend WaterAid’s Supporter’s Visit to India. Daniel was selected from over 7500 staff, based on his dedication to development work and his well-established commitment to promoting WaterAid within Arup and to the greater engineering community.
Passionate about energy conservation, sustainable design and the environment, Daniel’s interests extend to considering the role that engineers can have in minimising the impact of urban development. Having participated in forums on the environment his sustainable design solutions have been applied to several multidisciplinary projects.
Daniel also demonstrates the ethos of social responsibility in his role as Chair of FutureNet Victoria, where he has a positive impact on young engineers. His innovative project ideas, leadership skills, and ability to motivate others have made him an exceptional example of someone who promotes the values of Arup, the profession of engineering and its impact on society.
