Poverty Action Network

Building upon Ove Arup's vision of a humane organisation, the Poverty Action Network (PAN) aims to unite all Arup staff with an interest in poverty alleviation, disaster relief and social injustice.

Our focus is broad, covering both global and local poverty and includes international development and the task of meeting the Millennium Development Goals; humanitarian disaster relief; and supporting disadvantaged members of our local communities.

Once you join Arup, you have the opportunity to engage in work, forums and campaigns focusing on social justice issues. We will support you to take informed action and use your technical skills to tackle local and global poverty.

By sharing information and goals via the PAN forum and attending monthly talks, you can engage in and learn about the projects and personal experiences of your colleagues in humanitarian and development work.

While PAN encourages you to focus your goodwill and social conscience within daily working hours, we also aim to help you develop a lifestyle that breeds sustainability and a better quality of life for those less fortunate.
