Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is comprehensive, designed to make sure we’re a good fit and that you’ll get the most from the Graduate Program. So you know what to expect after you click ‘Apply’, we’ve outlined the stages of our selection process below.
1. Initial Selection
Once we’ve received your online application, we’ll then review your application against the following criteria:
- degree awarded
- academic achievement
- relevant experience
- evidence of team interaction
- written communication skills
- your responses to the additional questions.
If your application is successful at this stage, we’ll let you know and you’ll be invited to interview
2. Pre-Interview Psychometric Assessment
Prior to your interview we’ll email you a link to allow you to complete an online personality profile. You’ll need to complete this at least two days before your interview.
3. Interview
Your interview will be behavioural-based and consists of three parts:
- The interview itself, with HR and someone from the group to which you’ve applied.
- An opportunity to present and discuss some examples of your university design / project assignments
- Completion of a psychometric assessment, comprising verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning tests. You should expect to be in our offices for approximately two hours.
4. Reference check
Two of your referees will be contacted to conduct a reference check.
5. Offer
Pending the results of your reference checks, we’ll post you a written offer of employment. You’ll also receive information about Arup and the conditions and benefits of your employment.
6. Acceptance and start date
Your acceptance of a graduate position is by a signed and returned employment contract. A start date can also be agreed upon at this stage. You can find out more information at one of our upcoming Recruitment Events, or if what you’ve seen so far has impressed you, Apply Now.
