The Land Transport Authority is constructing the Singapore Downtown Line and its 33 new stations in three stages. For this complex and demanding project Arup has been commissioned to undertake the advanced consultancy for Stage one and the southern part of Stage two. For Stage three of the Downtown Line, Arup is also completing the detailed design of four stations.
Copyright DTL 3 © AedasValued at S$46m, this design and construction support commission is one of the largest rail projects being undertaken by Arup in the Asian region. The stations will be located in the heart of Singapore’s CBD and will be connected by approximately 5km of twin tunnels. This project will draw on Arup’s experience and expertise on major rail projects worldwide.
A 130-strong team is delivering the design for this ambitious assignment – addressing all of the challenges of planning and constructing deep underground infrastructure in Singapore’s CBD.
